Batu Şallıel is a distinguished musician from a family deeply rooted in music. His musical journey began under the guidance of his father, Mümin Şallıel, a renowned saxophonist, when Batu was nine years old.

Showing remarkable talent and dedication, Şallıel started his professional music career at the age of 15. He quickly established himself as a versatile musician, collaborating with esteemed jazz musicians and acclaimed pop singers across various musical genres. Batu has performed in several cities his native Turkey and has been featured in numerous international jazz festivals. His notable achievements include winning the Grand Prize at the Riga International Jazz Stage Saxophone competition in 2014 and receiving the prestigious Best Jazz Improvisation Award. This success led to performances at prestigious venues like the Fashing Jazz Club in Stockholm and the International Riga Saxophonia Festival. His rendition of "Uzun İnce Bir Yoldayım" secured him a spot in The Best Of Riga Jazz Album.

In 2018, Şallıel attended the Siena Jazz Workshop in Italy, where he honed his skills under the guidance of renowned jazz luminaries. He is also a graduate of Bilgi University, where he received formal training in music theory, composition, and performance.

Aside from performing, Batu is committed to nurturing the next generation of musicians. He recently started teaching at Istanbul University State Conservatory as a saxophone and ensemble instructor, aiming to inspire and mentor young talents.
